There are several opportunities for photographers to volunteer their time and talents for the Coalition of Children, Youth and Families.
1. Photolisting services for waiting children. We post a portrait and description on our website (www.wiadopt.org) and also in a printed publication (ADOPT!) that is published twice a year. The images of the children are used for purposes of recruiting permanent homes for them.
2. Fostering Achievement. The statistics are grim for foster youth when it comes to high school graduation. And, even for those youth who do graduate, they often don’t have the resources to have senior portraits taken. This program pairs volunteer photographers with high school seniors in foster care who would otherwise be unable to have senior portraits taken. Some of our photographers donate all of the digital files to CYF and we then make prints available to these seniors and their families at a very deep discount. Most of our photographers prefer to do their own printing and donate the printed images and/or a disc of images directly to the foster youth.
3. Special events. We have a number of events, conferences and occasions throughout the year that we like to have photographed. For example, our annual Adoption Celebration Gala in November, our annual Adoption Day at the Zoo, our annual Homes for Kids golf outing and our annual Family Portrait Day. We use the photos on our websites and in our publications.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer photographer for CYF, please contact us for a sign-up form. We also request a signed release allowing Adoption Resources of Wisconsin, Inc. to use your donated images in our publications, materials, websites, etc.
